Indie folk act Judah & The Lion offer up a message of transformation, fatherhood and rediscovering their passion for music on their sixth studio album, I Am A Prism, a deeply personal collection that’s underpinned by a sense of meaningful celebration. Laden with renewed purpose and dedication to their craft, the project marks 15 years of their music journey framed by the everyday miracles that add joy to our lives.
From previously released singles like “Gravel Road,” and “As The Crow,” with their sunny pop-country warmth and quiet but powerful messages to the album’s impactful focus track “Powerless,” which fuses ’90s grunge-rock energy with catchy alt-pop sensibilities in its raw yet luscious encapsulation of finding strength in our flaws, each track on the 12-track album is rooted in strong emotion delivered with equal parts intimacy and relatability.
Speaking of the project, they say, “We wanted to get back to the ‘why’ of when we first started making music together. We do it because we want to help people. That’s the heart behind this. A lot of this record is trying to connect the thread between our beginnings and this point.” Getting to that space isn’t always easy, but we always come back better for it.”
